HBASTL Mentorship Program – 2024 Application Period Closing Soon!
Are you a motivated J.D. or LL.M. student looking to take your legal education to the next level? Do you want guidance and support from experienced legal professionals who understand the unique challenges and opportunities that lie ahead? The Hispanic Bar Association of St. Louis invites you to join our Mentorship Program to help law students thrive in their legal careers. 10 spots are available for students each year.
Our Mentoring Program is designed to provide you with valuable insights, support, and networking opportunities to help you navigate the legal profession successfully. By connecting with seasoned attorneys and legal experts, you can better understand the legal landscape and develop the skills necessary to excel in your chosen field.
As a participant in this program, you can expect to meet with your HBASTL mentor once a month or more frequently if both of you agree. The date and location of the meeting will be determined between you and the mentor.

Advocacy and Outreach: The Hispanic Bar Association of St. Louis is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. By joining our Mentoring Program, you become part of an organization that actively advocates for the advancement of diverse legal professionals.
Please note: Due to the personalized nature of our program, we have limited spots available. Only ten candidates will be accepted into this year’s Mentoring Program. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to accelerate your legal career!
Mentorship Eligibility and Requirements:
This mentorship is sponsored by the HBASTL for the benefit of underserved law students who are actively involved in the Hispanic/Latinx community. At the time of application for the Mentorship, law students who are eligible must be:
• Enrolled and attending an American Bar Association accredited law school in the State of Missouri;
• A current 1L, 2L, 3L, or LLM law student in good standing;
• Involved in the Hispanic/Latinx community; and
• Be an active HBASTL Law Student member (membership is always free for law students).
Application Requirements:
Complete and submit an application including the following attachments:
• Personal Statement (essay)
• Resume (include relevant community service and extra curricular activities);
• Copy of most recent law school transcript;
• As an option, you may include up to two recommendation letters.
The recipients of the mentorship program will be paired, for the duration of one academic year, with a mentor who aligns with your interests and career goals. The program is open to both J.D. and LL.M. students, and participation is free for all members of the Hispanic Bar Association of St. Louis.
